Today Show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie publicly announced her engagement to political and media consultant Mike Feldman on air, May 13, 2013. "I got engaged over the weekend to my boyfriend ... who I adore," she said. "We've been together for four years so, as he said, no one will accuse us of rushing in to anything."

Feldman proposed while the couple was vacationing in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Carribean. He dropped to one knee and presented Guthrie with the ring box. "I didn't open it for a long time," Guthrie said, "because I was just overcome." Singer Kelly Clarkson, known as the winner of the first season of American Idol, was given a canary diamond engagement ring by beau Brandon Blackstock, stepson of Reba McEntire and the son of Clarkson's manager. The two dated for about 10 months and have known each other for six years.

Shortly after announcing her engagement on Twitter, Clarkson also tweeted a picture of her ring, "It's a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it and Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt! The two were co-stars in the Green Lantern, with Reynolds in the lead and Lively as his love interest. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux began dating in May 2011 after filming Wanderlust together, a comedy released in 2012. The following January, the couple purchased a home together in Bel Air, Los Angeles, and the two were seen wearing matching chunky gold rings bearing the wearer's name. Twenty-two-year-old Australian actor Liam Hemsworth proposed to 19-year-old actress and singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus with a 3.5-carat cushion cut engagement ring by designer Neil Lane. The center stone is an antique, hand-cut around 1880 or 1890, according to Lane. Smaller diamonds are set in the ring's distinctive 18-karat yellow gold shank, which also features milgrain and Art Nouveau-style floral hand engraving for a vintage look. Hemsworth's aim, according to Lane, was "something really beautiful and romantic."

Actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, a.k.a "Brangelina," easily rank among the world's most famous couples and have lived together as a family since 2005. An advocate of same-sex marriage, Pitt told Esquire magazine in 2006 that he wanted to wait until all couples could marry before tying the knot. However seven years later in April 2012, the couple announced their engagement, with Pitt's manager saying: "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy." It will be Jolie's third marriage, and Pitt's second.

The engagement ring, featuring graduated emerald cut diamonds, was designed by Pitt and jeweler Robert Procop. The two worked on the ring for a year. "Brad had a vision and I was honored to be a part of it," Procop told HuffPost in April 2012. "Brad's vision was all about making the perfect ring that complements her style and grace. Art consultant Will Kopelman proposed to actress Drew Barrymore with a nearly four-carat diamond engagement ring, designed by London-based Graff Diamonds. According to Graff, the center diamond is a D color, radiant cut diamond.

In 2012, Barrymore told People magazine: "It's beautiful. [Kopelman] picked it out and he's just got lovely taste, and it's really fancy. I'm sort of like funky, eclectic girl so I feel like this is very fancy and I'm trying to like, you know, feel comfortable with it."

Model and actress Molly Sims rocks her cushion halo engagement ring given to her by her now hubby Scott Stuber, a film producer. The ring was designed by Diane von Fürstenberg, a former German princess who enjoys designing women's clothes. Sims' center cushion cut diamond is estimated to be between five and six carats.

Sims told InStyle magazine in June 2011: "[Stuber] designed it. He did it with my girlfriend on his own. He surprised me; I never sent him a picture. He did it all."

Socialite and reality TV star Kim Kardashian was given a three stone engagement ring by NBA player Kris Humphries, after six months of dating. The 20.5-cttw ring, designed by New York jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, features a 16.5-carat emerald cut diamond flanked by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids and is reported to be worth $2 million. The inside of the ring was engraved with a coded message of love, along with "K <3 K." Schwartz also designed Beyoncé's engagement ring.

Kim told People magazine in May 2011: "In high school I went to Macy's and bought this fake ring, my 'perfect' ring, and this is almost the exact same ... It's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It's perfect."

After the couple's widely publicized televised marriage and split, the prenuptial agreement reportedly allowed Kim to keep the engagement ring.

Actress Kate Hudson, daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, began dating English rocker Matthew Bellamy in 2010. The following year, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child, and then a few months later Hudson appeared on The Today Show wearing an engagement ring. Talent agent Jim Toth proposed to actress Reese Witherspoon over the 2010 Christmas holiday. They had been dating for about a year and tied the knot March 2011 in Ojai, Calif. It's Witherspoon's second marriage.

Dancer Benjamin Millepied proposed to actress Natalie Portman with a recycled platinum ring featuring an antique old mine cut round center diamond surrounded by a double halo of pave set accent diamonds. The ring was designed by ballet dancer-turned-jewelry designer Jamie Wolf of New York City. The couple met while working together on the film "Black Swan."

NHL hockey player Mike Comrie, 29, proposed to actress Hilary Duff, 22, while vacationing on Maui in February 2010. The couple were staying at the Four Seasons Resort Maui, and Comrie got on one knee while the two were enjoying a sunset from the hotel's balcony. He waited to call Duff's mother a half hour before proposing, so that the surprise would not be spoiled.

The enormous three stone diamond engagement ring is reportedly 14 carats and worth $1 million, although Duff has shied away from giving out the specifics. Although in this picture, it appears as though the band is set with pave diamonds, other pictures clearly show that it is a plain band. It's most likely just a trick of lighting.

Nicole Richie, daughter of singer-songwriter Lionel Richie, began dating musician Joel Madden in December 2006. In 2008, the couple's daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born, and then their son Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born the following year. The couple met as teenagers at a Monaco club and then, while vacationing in Switzerland over the holidays, rekindled their relationship in 2004.
